This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. To commemorate this event, Henley Village is hosting a number of activities on Sunday 11th November, Armistice Day.
10.30am Remembrance Service, Henley Church, with two minutes silence at 11.00am.
5pm Indoor Street Party at Henley Community Centre, with activities for all ages.
7pm Lighting of the Village Beacon with an Act of Remembrance
7.15pm Evening Entertainment in the Community Centre
Entry is by ticket only, which are FREE. One ticket for the day enables you to attend any of the events from 5.00pm onwards - we have to issue tickets to calculate the catering. These will be available from Friday this week from:
Rod Caird, Revd Carl, Revd Cathy, Henley Church, or various village group leaders.
In addition to all this, the Church (we hope) will be lit up red over that week and a waterfall of poppies will be flowing from the tower. Please continue to knit and make poppies and leave them in Henley Church for collection.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
